5 Years!
Can it really be five years since I walked down the aisle in the dress of my dreams? I know everyone says it's hard to believe, but...it really is! Five years of the student life, paying rent month after month, moving soon after we've settled into a new place - I wouldn't give it up for all the world.
Josh isn't usually a flower kind of guy so when a sweet old man walked into my office on Thursday with his arms full of flowers and asked for me it took me a moment to process...and then another moment to choke back the tears...The bamboo stalks are the wood that represents our 5 years - what a clever guy.
And I have to say the promise of a trip to Italy in a couple months greatly eases the pain of spending one's anniversary at work.

Tardy congratulations! Hope you've made it to five years and two weeks okay! Hey, a day at work beats having surgery on your 11th anniversary! Cheers to all.

Congrats guys. Steve and I just did the "woah where did five years go?" thing too. We celebrated our anniversary by taking a red eye flight back to muggy muggy chattanooga from idyllic Tacoma. Why did we ever leave Tacoma? Wished we could have seen a bit more of you guys when you were there, but oh well. Perhaps in the future we will have more excuses to see each other. Tee hee.

Hello,
I just wanted to say congratulations. You don't know me, but I'm connected to you in a few ways. When I visited Covenant back in February of 2002 (when I was in grad school for English in Monroe, LA), you and your husband spent a couple of hours orienting me to the campus. I guess that was toward the beginning of your marriage. I can't remember if I met you at PRPC or not, but I know the Meyers, the Barlows, and the Smiths...and the Garners, who were up there at the time.
An elder at your dad's church (John Pribyl) also came to my wife's defense in her heresy trial (for FV stuff). He was such a kind man that my father-in-law said that we should name our first kid after him (which would have been weird since she was a girl).
Finally, I got to your page through a link on Haley Rice's blog. I went to school with Haley for a year at Belhaven.
I am not sure why I am telling you all this, but I've thought of you both a few times over those five years. Congratulations :-)
