Italia
How does one summarise what was in almost every way an ideal holiday? And even more pressing, how does one choose which pictures (of the 260 my dear wife took...) to put on the blog? We spent about 10 days total lounging around Florence, Sorrento, and Rome; the last definitely my favourite, though Bryonie gives that award to Florence. Great food, beautiful weather (mostly), and touring around such impressive and interesting sites. The highlights for me are walks along the Tiber river in the evenings, then we'd go down through the Piazza Navona and the Pantheon on the way to our b&b, which was right off the remains of the Forum and a 3 minute walk from the Colosseum. But the meal that we had for my birthday in the Piazza of the Pantheon has to be mentioned too: outdoor on a beautiful night, candles, great wine and meat... and gelato, of course.
