We're Still Alive...
Hi folks - sorry for being m.i.a. the last month. Has it really been a month since we packed up our lives and moved across the Pond back to the good ol' US of A? A month tomorrow we landed in Seattle and life has been a whirl of activity ever since.
Josh and I calculated today that between returning from Scotland, three trips to Minnesota, one to New York and one to Atlanta we will have covered some 40,000 miles of air time within 6 weeks. All that recycled air is probably wreaking havoc on our brain cells.
But, the good news is that the big question we were facing one month ago has now been answered. Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church outside Minneapolis, Minnesota, has asked Josh to be their minister and he has accepted. We're going to be Minnesotans...
We are excited about this next step - about the church and about getting to know the Twin Cities area. We are finally doing what we have planned and trained to do for six and a half years.
So, another few weeks in Tacoma and then we head to Las Cruces to spend some time with J's family. We'll pack up the stuff that's stored in Cruces and then drive up to St Louis where the rest of our stuff is, gather that and then drive up to Minneapolis. Doesn't that sound like fun?
But for now, I have a trip to NYC to look forward to. My sister is performing her masters recital at the end of the month and I get to go!!! It's so nice to finally be in the same country as my family...

I was at J'net's blog and wondered if you were still in Scotland. I loved looking at all your photos...made us homesick. Loved the Lake District ones. So you're back here now. Our good friends, the Doug Johnsons, go to your church in MN. They met some of your friends when they stayed with us in Italy, um... John Calvin Traver and.. who were the girls? Kerri? and ? way back in 1998. Rachael Minich

Well... welcome to the frozen state! I promise the summers are nice. Believe it or not, your church is across the street from the Executive Office of the company I work for!

Wow!! Welcome back and congratulations on the new job! Have a blast in NY!! :) I'm headed to Peru tomorrow to see my sis. ;) (Scott couldn't have given me a better birthday present than 5 days kid-free with my sister!) We look forward to catching up with you guys once you're a little more settled. :) Love and miss you!

Umm, excuse me. You will be going to Las Cruces? And then driving away? You know who lives sort of near Las Cruces right? I'm just saying. You'd be welcomed to spend a night at Casa de Wachdorf. Let me know if you want to take us up on the offer.

wow, congrats, guys! That is so exciting and what a blessing to finally know where you are going! I am sure you are going to be sorely missed in Tacoma, but I bet you will have plenty of visitors! Have a fun time visiting family around the country and I hope all goes well with your move!
Love,
Alicia

Yay for you! I've been checking the blog for a few days to see if you had any updates about the job prospect in the Land of 10,000 Lakes! We're excited for this next adventure for you. And Saskatchewan isn't THAT far away (far becomes relative when living on the prairies...)
